3.3.6 Smoke-free policy

Subject: Implementation of a Mandatory Tobacco-Free and Smoke-Free Campus Policy.
Absolute Ban: Consumption, sale, advertisement, or storage of all tobacco products (cigarettes, bidis, gutkha, khaini, e-cigarettes/vapes, etc.) is strictly prohibited across all campus areas, including academic buildings, hostels, cafeterias, sports complexes, residential areas, and gates.
Fines & Penalty: Smoking or consuming tobacco within campus premises will attract a spot fine of up to ₹200 (under Section 4 of COTPA 2003). Repeat offenders (students or staff) will face strict disciplinary action.
100-Yard Radius Rule: Sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of the university boundary wall is strictly illegal and punishable by law.
Enforcement Authority: The Proctor is designated as the authorized officer to enforce this policy and handle violation reports.
Applicability: The order is binding on all students, faculty, staff, security, vendors, and visitors.
